DANK German Language Schools
More than 30 years ago, DANK began operating German language schools to students of all ages with the intention to preserve the German language in the United States, and foster more deeply the German culture and customs. Often these schools are started because a small group of dedicated DANK members wanted to put this purpose of DANK into action.
Since the opening of our first school, more chapters opened up their own DANK Schools. In 1974, there were sixteen active DANK schools spread throughout various parts of the country.
Our oldest DANK School, from DANK Chapter Chicago North, is located in the DANK Haus on Western Avenue in Chicago, and offers all children and adults a culturally stimulating, as well as technically engaging, curriculum.
As the opportunity and need arises, DANK is committed to opening more schools. Our most recently founded school is DANK School Columbus, Ohio.
The DANK Chapter Schools run concurrently with the public school year, giving the students the summer off.
