German American Partnership Program (GAPP)

The Educational Exchange Service is the central coordinating office of the German states for teacher, foreign language assistant, and school exchanges with the United States. PAD administers the German American Partnership Program (GAPP), a nonprofit high school exchange program between schools in Germany and the United States, sponsored by the German Foreign Office and the U.S. Department of State. GAPP facilitates partnerships between German schools and American schools offering German language classes and conducts three-to-four-week group exchange programs.

 

 

Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange Program

The Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange Program enables secondary school students from 15 to 18 years and full-time vocational students from 18 to 19 years of age to spend a year in Germany living with host families, attending a German school, and participating in community life. Prior German language skills are not required.

 

 

Partnership International e. V. (PI)

PI arranges cross-cultural programs, particularly between American and German youths, on the basis of partnerships. It organizes student group and individual exchange programs, which include accommodations with families and summer vacation programs. For educators, one-week exchange programs encompassing preparatory and accompanying lectures are offered in cooperation with international associations of school principals.

 

 

Carl Duisberg Centren

The Carl Duisberg Centren organize academic terms or full-year attendance at schools in Germany Gymnasium (similar to high school), Gesamtschule ("comprehensive school"), or a renowned boarding school from age 11 onwards.

 

 

Christliches Jugenddorfwerk Deutschlands (CJD)

The CJD (Christliches Jugenddorfwerk Deutschlands) sponsors programs that offer the opportunity for high school students and young teachers to study at eight of its high schools throughout Germany.
