Hi Everyone,
Just left Hong Kong today on my way back to the US via a layover in Tokyo. Did not even consider that I was going to be in Hong Kong for the Chinese New Year so what a bonus. All on the same day, Valentines day, Chinese New Year, the start of the Winter Olympics and of course the start of Karneval/Mardi Gras [...] Read more »

I’m back! It’s been so long since I have written for the blog. It’s been so busy for me in the last 6 months both with my job and with DANK. In November I was re-elected to the position of DANK National President for 2 more years, so there will be more time to report on my journeys around the world and with DANK.

I finally had time to update the blog again. Since my last time to Frankfurt I have been extremely busy attending the Maitanz and 50th anniversary celebration of the chapter DANK Chicago-West. After that I went back on a trip to Frankfurt and lo and behold it’s Christi Himmelfahrt (Ascension) which is a Catholic and official holiday in Germany with no stores open. If you [...] Read more »

The people were out in full force. One [...] Read more »

If you guessed Rome, you guessed right.
After 1 ½ years I finally returned to Rome and there were some changes. I am now flying there in [...] Read more »

Just finished a great layover in Frankfurt on April 1. The weather was great. A wonderful spring day in the mid 60’s F. Besides having to do all my usual chores such as shopping for Easter candy, I also had a tailor attach “Stoßbänder” (special bias tape) at the bottom of my new uniform pants. Pant legs in Germany customarily have those which make them [...] Read more »

Hi Everyone,
Just got home from my 11 day Asian excursion yesterday. Had some trouble with my laptop so had to wait until I got home to upload my blog. Included this time is a picture that I took of the unfortunate FedEx accident site in Tokyo.
When I reached Honolulu, I talked to the Sheraton Princess Kaiulani Executive Chef, Ralf Bauer. He just happens [...] Read more »

It’s now Monday Afternoon in Tokyo. I arrived yesterday afternoon after a nice layover in Hong Kong. Got to visit my friend Paul while there. We had a nice day starting with a dim sum lunch and ending with a nice seafood dinner. We got to catch up on what happened in the last few years since I had not been to Hong Kong in [...] Read more »
