Nov. 9, 1989 – What Happened That Day?
My apologies on getting the Video of the Week out this late. This week Germany celebrated the 20th Anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. Deutsche Welle ran an interesting set of videos surrounding this event and I decided to pick out an interesting one to share on this blog. DW detailed the days events that occurred on November 9, 1989 and showed how the word got out.
If you know of a video that you’d like to see featured as our “Video of the Week”, send a link to the video to website@dank.org and we will consider publishing it in a future post. Videos must be family friendly!

Great Blog. We so often forget what suppression of liberty is really like.

Isn’t it amazing that the opening of the wall happened because of some misunderstanding? Schabowski had no clue as to what he was saying, but he made it all happen!
