After a well deserved vacation on Maui with my family and a weekend of meetings at the March 2009 DANK leadership conference I am back in the air with various stops in Asia. My first stop in Honolulu has me checking out more of the German American roots on my travels. Just found a new place, Wolfgang’s Steak House on Waikiki. I’ll have to check it out some more but there seem to be several locations in the US including NY and Beverly Hills. No, it’s not Wolfgang Puck, but Zwiener, apparently first started in NY. He must be a German-American with that name. Check out the website- http://wolfgangssteakhouse.com
Another couple of interesting tidbits about Honolulu. At the Sheraton Princess Ka’iulani Hotel, where we stay on our layovers, the head chef is from Gelsenkirchen, my home town. Look for more in future blogs. I will try to pin him down in a video doing a pineapple serving demonstration, which he does here in the afternoon. Also there is a great German bakery near here that bakes some good Bauernbrot, which I have been taking home from my trips. Got to go for now.
More to come.
