Just got back to Tokyo from Hongkong. Have not been there in quite a while and checked out if my favorite places are still there. The Hanoi Road Biergarten in Kowloon is still there. It’s been a long time favorite of mine. It used to be owned by 4 gentlemen from Recklinghausen, Germany that were in the toy import business. Remodeled a little bit and now moved 2 doors down, this place will make you think that you are back in Germany with the decor, the customers and Bitburger, König Pilsner and Wernesgrüner on tap. If you are hungry their “Strammer Max” will certainly satisfy your tastebuds. Only two of the partners remain as the owners today. In the old space where the Biergarten used to be they opened up a Tapas bar.
